Government Degree College for Men, Adilabad was established on 1st April 1957 in ADILABAD District of North Telangana Region. In the beginning, it was run under the private management. The founder of the college Sri. M. S. Shastri was principal and delivered the goods in a befitting manner. He cherished the noble values of higher education and catered the needs of the depressed sections of the society. Adilabad district has been the region of socio economic and educational backwardness. He wanted to enlighten the students of this area by promoting the concept of higher education.
The state government took over this college in January 1959. Since 1969 it has been functioning in the present campus of 15 acres of land allotted by the government. The playground stretches in 7.5 acres. It is located in the eastern side one kilometer far from the National Highway No.7. The College is located near Indira Priya Darshini Stadium. It offers 12 UG and 4 PG Courses. The present Principal of this College is Sri. Panuganti Ashok. This college celebrated It’s Silver Jubilee in 1982. The prestigious Golden Jubilee was celebrated in 2007.
